"Times" Line

Here is a physical demonstration of multiplication facts.  Since the kids make their own, the information is more personal and absorbed more quickly.

Four pieces of notebook paper taped together to make one long sheet.  All the red lines lined up and the top margins were overlapped so the blue lines continued evenly down the entire length of the paper.

Each line was numbered from 1-100.

The line numbers were the...
products and on their lines we wrote the multiplication facts that could create that number.  For instance: Line 24 would have 12x2, 3x8 and 4x6.  Line 25 would have 5x5.  Line 27 would have 3x9.

This took the kids about an hour.  Their first intinct was to write all the 3x fasts on the 3 line.  This was a pretty quick fix since they ran out of fasts at 10 and came to ask for clarification.
